Ms. Dhoop teaches Political Science at Sophia College for Women, Mumbai. She has
pursued her Bachelor’s in Political Science (Hons.) from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta
(Autonomous) and her Master’s in Regulatory Governance from Tata Institute of Social
Sciences, Mumbai. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Habitat Studies from Tata Institute
of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She qualified UGC-National Eligibility Test (NET) for
Assistant-Professorship in Political Science in 2021.
She has over 5 years’ experience of working as an independent consultant with tribal and
human rights organisations in India. She has worked with politicians like Shri Om Birla and
Shri Prashant Kishor. She has also taught at St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
Her work has been published widely in the Economic  Political Weekly (EPW), thewire.in,
the quint, Scroll.in, Deccan Herald, LiveMint etc. She writes extensively on politics, gender,
environment and forest governance.
